Factorio 2.1 entered experimental testing this summer

Wube Software released Factorio 2.1 to its experimental branch in June 2026. The studio said players could opt in through the game's settings or Steam's beta controls, depending on where they play. [1]

The studio warned that saves and blueprints updated to 2.1 cannot be downgraded. It recommended backups before switching and noted that mods may need time to catch up with the experimental build. [1]
